Welcome, I’m Yasaman! I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) situated on the unceded territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Anishnabeg, colonially recognized as Toronto, ON. I provide in person and online psychotherapy services to individuals (16+), couples and families throughout Ontario. My commitment to you is to show up as my full human self, where we can have open conversations that are rooted in self-compassion and collective care.I am a first generation Iranian-Canadian and I understand the importance of working from an intersectional, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approach. I strive to bring authenticity and warmth to my practice to provide a safer and compassionate space for my clients. Oftentimes, there will be shared understanding, humour, laughter, and tears in our work together.Outside of work, I love to spend time with my rescue dog - Koopa, bake, practice yoga, and giggle at funny animal videos on youtube.

What does Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) mean?
After graduating with a Master’s degree, psychotherapists register with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and they enter the qualifying category. This means they can practice under the supervision of a more experienced therapist. Insurance plans cover sessions with a registered psychotherapist (qualifying). What issues can Yasaman help with?
I specialize in managing people-pleasing, codependent tendencies or feelings of shame. This can be related to histories of loss, abuse, neglect or deprivation on many levels. This can show up as depression, isolation, poor job performance, irritability, and rocky relationships.I also focuses on anxiety-related struggles. To read more, see my profile on Psychology Today hereWhat can I expect at my first session?
You both will start by getting to know each other. I will hear your story and begin to understand how you got to where you are, as well as get clear on what you want out of therapy. At the end of session, you both will create plan for moving forward (e.g., how often you come and what to focus on between meetings). How long is each session?
A typical session is booked for 60 minutes. The first 50 is considered the treatment hour where you focus on the issues at hand. The last 10 minutes are used flexibly for wrapping-up, taking care of any scheduling or other business, and note-taking for your file.
Longer and shorter appointment times are available on a case-by-case basis upon request. How long does therapy take?
That answer is different for everybody. I see people on both a long- and short-term basis, and will work with you for find the pace that fits your goals. Most people will start to see meaningful change in 10-15 sessions when attending regularly. What are your fees?
For individual therapy, my fees are $160/session. For relational therapy (couples/families) my fees are $180/session. I do offer a sliding scale for those without insurance, unemployed or are precariously employed. Please don’t hesitate to ask about it.

I am a therapist who works from a relational, experiential, and trauma-informed AEDP approach. This means we co-create a therapeutic relationship where you don’t have to face difficult emotions or experiences alone. AEDP is rooted in the belief that healing happens through connection, and that when we feel safe and understood, our natural capacity for resilience and transformation begins to emerge. In our work together, we move at a pace that feels right for you, slowing down, noticing what comes up, and exploring emotions with support rather than overwhelm. AEDP focuses on strengthening secure attachment, undoing aloneness, and helping you access more regulated, open, and grounded states of being.I support clients navigating people-pleasing, shame, isolation, anxiety, depression, relational trauma, and a wide range of life transitions and anyone seeking a deeper, kinder relationship with themselves. What Therapy Looks LikeYou do not need to have everything “figured out” to begin therapy. AEDP is not about analyzing you from a distance, it’s about being with you in your emotional experience, helping you feel supported, safe, and less alone with what you’re carrying. From there, we can access clarity, compassion, and the core self that often becomes obscured by stress or trauma.Together, we explore:- emotions that may feel overwhelming, confusing, or hard to access- patterns in relationships and attachment- protective strategies that once helped you cope but now feel limiting- the deeper truths, longings, and strengths that exist beneath distressIf you have questions about starting therapy or are curious about AEDP, I welcome you to reach out. I offer free consultations so you can get a sense of what working together might feel like.
